Free online course: Preparing for Graduate Study in the US
3+2 Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering Transfer Program
Students will study 3 years at UNCP for the Applied Physics bachelor’s degree from UNCP and then transfer to North Carolina State (NC State) for two years to complete the Electrical or Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree. This will mean students can earn 2 degrees in 5 years. PLUS, UNCP’s tuition reduction will be going into effect Fall 2018, which will drop tuition at UNCP to only $5000 for out-of-state students. Please see the link for a video introducing this new program here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wttp8R3qGpE&feature=youtu.be. Also, check out the other UNCP videos and share with students, http://www.uncp.edu/academics/colleges-schools-departments/colleges-schools/college-arts-and-sciences/departments-programs.
Reduced Tuition at UNCP Beginning Fall 2018
The North Carolina Promise Tuition Plan is a program of the State of North Carolina established with the intent of increasing access to a quality university education through the University of North Carolina system. UNC Pembroke will offer reduced tuition for undergraduate students beginning Fall 2018. UNCP’s in-state tuition will be reduced to $1000 a year and out-of-state tuition to $5,000 a year for undergraduate students. NC Promise does not apply to graduate students or students in the English Language Institute; however, English Language Institute students can take advantage of the tuition discount after they complete the ELI program and enroll in an undergraduate program. This change, we feel, will really help promote UNCP to students looking for an affordable education in the U.S. at a university with a wide array of bachelor’s and master’s degree offerings, fantastic faculty, and a diverse community of cultures, ideas and organizations at their fingertips. Here is a link to a video about NC Promise, https://ncpromise.com/ as well as an information sheet, http://www.uncp.edu/news-events/nc-promise.
UNCP's English Language Institute
International students preparing for university study in the United States may apply to our 15-week program that provides intensive English language instruction, TOEFL preparation, pre-academic training, and cultural orientation. Successful completion of the ELI program satisfies the language requirement for admission to UNCP. Priority application deadline is November 15th for the Spring semester and June 15th for the Fall semester. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis according to program availability.
International students enrolled in English language training programs cannot participate in practical training during their program of study, including any unpaid opportunities. https://goo.gl/PuKoRU
