Inara 023 // Tommy Kinetic
Kicking off the first Monday in June we have a special guest from Tommy Kinetic. Originally from La Paz, Bolivia 🇧🇴 currently residing in Washington DC 🇺🇸, Tommy has curated a special set for this months podcast. Tommy was inspired by electronic music during his time in Bolivia, he was inspired by the music of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and others in the progressive house scene.
From the artists:
“Growing up in Bolivia, I fell in love with Hernan’s music and was really intrenched in the progressive house scene. When I decided to become an artists myself, I realized how much amazing music was out there that I was not privy too. From downtempo to hard techno, there’s so much amazing music. When I became an artists with my first project as Tumbocats and I grew my music library and started digging for tracks, I realized that my taste was changing. We started DJing parties during 2020 when clubs were shut down. Eventually, (COVID-permitting), we were invited to open for a few big acts, such as Amine K and Facundo Mohrr.
In between shows, they would hold a weekly radio stream on an online streaming platform called Blast Radio. However, as time grew and our tastes changed, Tumbocats project is coming to an end and we are each going our separate ways musically. Mari is more of a downtempo and chill type of DJ and I am more of a high-energy club type of DJ.”
This mix is fun-loving, punchy, beautiful with harmonics & melodics. Every track is engaging and has a seamless flow from one track to the next. We are excited to have Tommy Kinetic on this months episode of Inara 🌅

Nick Warren, an absolute legend in the dance music industry and one of the most selfless artists in the scene. He is always showing casing new artists on his record label co-founded with Petra Ni, The Soundgarden. You can tell when Nick Warren is on the decks. The music emanating from the DJ booth is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound.
To this day, Warren remains at the forefront of club culture: he packs clubs and arenas worldwide from London to Buenos Aires to Burning Man, transfixing dancefloors with his distinctively forward blend of credible progressive sounds, deeper tunes, atmospheric layers and any other grooves Warren deems appropriate for his turntable. Nick Warren became one of the first so-called "superstar DJs" in the mid-to-late '90s, holding down a high-profile residency at Cream in England, touring around the world, and appearing on several DJ mix albums before they became commonplace.
Then, through a combination of providing acclaimed mixes for Mixmag, DMC, and the Global Underground series, and releasing a string of club-smashing solo singles, Warren found himself catapulted into the electronic big leagues; and, by continuing to release acclaimed albums, singles, and remixes with his Way Out West partner-in-crime, Jody Wisternoff, he firmly established himself as a truly multi-faceted producer of top-quality dance music.

This month on the Inara podcast, I am featuring my favorite artists tracks, Bedouin. This is an hour long mix compiled of Bedouin originals, remixes and edits they’ve composed over the years. I hold Bedouin near and dear to my heart because their music has bridged so many worlds for me.
Growing up, from a middle eastern family and around middle eastern culture, I was always listening to middle eastern music all the time. However, being born and raised in America, as an Egyptian-American, it felt like I didn’t really truly connect with my family’s culture and I also felt like some of an outcast in American culture as well. I made many friends, however, we did not quite connect on a deep level. I listened to house music on the regular growing up, however, it didn’t quite resonate with me until I discovered Bedouin for the first time back in 2014/15 — it felt like I found the artists that bridged these two worlds of my middle eastern and american cultures. Their music then led me down to path to find other artists that have similar elements in their music, such as Viken Armen, LUM, Satori, Pablo Fierro, Nick Warren, Lost Desert, Lee Burridge, Oceanvs Orientalis.
About the Artists:
Originally formed in Brooklyn, New York, Bedouin is production & DJ partnership between nomads Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe who are creating their own idiosyncratic spell of melody sand rhythms. Together they share an eclectic sonic vision that pulls from diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and world travels. Their combined musical backgrounds and ever-evolving taste captures the sensibility of imagination and constantly explores the connection between ourselves and the future.
Tracklist:
1. Sireli (Bedouin Remix) - Viken Armen
2. Svyryd (Bedouin Reworks) - DakhaBrakha
3. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun - Bedouin
4. Dionysus - Bedouin, LUM
5. One On One (Bedouin Remix) - Fink, &Me
6. Salgir Boyu (Bedouin Reworks) - DakhaBrakha
7. Guacamole (Original Mix) - Bedouin
8. Flamma (Original Mix) - Bedouin
9. Carousel (Bedouin Remix) - dOP
10. Wish You Were Here (Bedouin Remix) - Black Coffee
11. Li Beirut (Bedouin 2020 Tribute Rework) - Fairouz
