| Visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

🔘 Day 1: Launch of the National Conference BEHCA 2026 at the University of Biskra, April 14, 2026.

🔴The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, Civil Engineering and Hydraulics of the University of Biskra, in collaboration with the Built Environment Resilience Lab (BERLab), successfully launched the first edition of the National Conference BEHCA 2026 on the morning of April 14, 2026.

🎤 The conference is chaired by Prof. Mostefa Medouki.

🔴Held at the audiovisual center, the conference is organized under the theme:
“The Built Environment of Historic Centers in Algeria: Between Heritage Preservation Strategies and the Challenges of Sustainable Tourism.”

🔴 On this occasion, a special award ceremony was held to honor distinguished alumni of the Department of Architecture, in recognition of their academic and professional contributions.

🔴 The opening ceremony was attended by university leaders, including vice-rectors, deans, and directors, as well as faculty members and students. The event also welcomed a high-quality panel of researchers and academics from various universities across the country.

🔴🔴A meaningful step toward promoting heritage preservation and sustainable development in Algeria.

🔘 Day 2: Launch of the Doctoral Training Days at Mohamed Khider University of Biskra

🔴🏗️🔆💨🫧 Sensorial Architecture Put to the Test of Uses and Senses: The Sensory Memory of a Vanished City

The doctoral training days were launched at Mohamed Khider University of Biskra from April 12 to 14, 2026, with remarkable international participation. The event was held under the supervision of Vice-Rector for External Relations, Dabla Fatah, representing the Rector, Professor Zouhir Dibi.

Coordination of the COST project at the University of Biskra:
1️⃣ Saadi Med Yacine, Director of the BERLab
2️⃣ Tallal Abdelkarim Bouzir

This scientific event, organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Hydraulics, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and BERLab, is part of the COST Action CitySenZ CA 23145 project. It brought together 19 lecturers, researchers, and doctoral students representing 16 research institutions from 10 countries, including Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Portugal, Turkey, and South Africa, among others.
