The RayAsta Foundation was founded in memory of Raymond Jonathon Astaphan, the third son of Jennifer Critical focus areas:

Raymond was a young, promising medical student, who was eighteen months away from graduating and being a doctor eventually specializing in neurology. He had completed his first degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto in 2012. His life was prematurely taken in a vehicular collision in Miami on May 28th, 2015 at a time when he was finalizing electives to begin his rotation

In Episode 6 of the RayAsta Stroke Prevention Series, Dr. Gael Thomas is joined virtually by Physical Therapist Vladislav Podolski, Occupational Therapist George Concert, and Speech-Language Pathologist Tatiana Garcia for an insightful discussion on stroke rehabilitation and the recovery process.

In recognition of Stroke Awareness Month, the RayAsta Foundation donated stroke support apparatus to four nursing homes across Dominica: Divine Victory Elderly Care Home, the Dominica Infirmary, Molimis Care Home, and Premium Home and Residential Care Services.
This initiative is part of our continued commitment to supporting stroke survivors, caregivers, and vulnerable elderly persons through practical care, awareness, and community outreach.
Small acts of support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
A stroke can change your life in an instant, but it does not define your story.

Today, we remember Raymond Astaphan.
Years have passed, yet the impact of his life continues to be felt through every family we support, every caregiver we train, and every conversation that raises awareness about stroke.
Raymond’s journey inspired the creation of the RayAsta Foundation, turning unimaginable loss into a mission of hope, education, and support for others facing similar challenges.
As we reflect on his memory, we honor not only the life he lived, but the lives that continue to be touched because of him.
Forever remembered. Forever loved. ❤️
