💫Feeling disconnected to your cesarean scar?💫

Connecting with your cesarean section is important. It is important because your nervous system needs to feel safe in your body again.

It's not entirely wrong to say that going through a major surgery like a cesarean section - is traumatic for the nervous system.

It is now important to let the nervous system understand that it can be safe in the area of your scar again, so that the signals can reach that area once more. But it needs some guidance.

But thats often easier said than done.

There can be many different reasons why we don't reconnect with the area again:

1️⃣ You believe it needs complete rest. However, that doesn't mean you can't touch the area or the surrounding area. Right from day 1, you must make contact with the area, hold a hand around the belly, and create warmth with your hands.

2️⃣ You feel disgust or discomfort from touch, and therefore you avoid all contact with the area. It's understandable that it's uncomfortable, I totally get that. So start somewhere easy. Get someone else to guide you - possibly your partner. Your partner can start by simply placing a gentle hand over your belly and gradually, day by day, move closer to the area. You can lay your hand over your partner's hand or simply start breathing into your abdomen, which also establishes connection.

3️⃣ You're afraid of doing something wrong, which is completely understandable. But establishing connection doesn't need to be more than placing a hand around your scar and sending thoughts and thereby energy to the area. Gradually, you'll feel more and more comfortable, and you won't be as nervous about doing something wrong anymore.

Maybe you see yourself in one of the above examples!?

Many Caesarean mothers are under the belief that you can't begin scar massage before 6 weeks after a Caesarean section. 😕

This is not entirely true because motion is lotion! 🏃‍♀️💧

You need to apply lotion to your scar to make it smooth and flexible. 💆‍♀♀️

You can introduce a little bit of motion indirectly, primarily through the use of your breath and lymphatic drainage techniques.

These methods can help create motion and bring lotion to your scar. 🌬️💆‍♀️

You might have heard of it, or it might be new to you - but one thing is certain: Breathing plays a pivotal role in your healing journey after a cesarean birth. 💨💕

From day 1 after your cesarean, you can incorporate a simple practice that makes a big difference. Allow me to introduce you to "motion is lotion" - and in this case, your breath. 🌬️✨

Imagine your breath as a gentle massage for your scar tissue. Your deep inhalations and calm exhalations help nourish the various layers of tissue that were touched during your cesarean.

By tending to your scar tissue through breathing exercises, you help prevent "adhesions" - where tissues stick together. This can lead to bulges over the scar and discomfort.

It's common to experience pain around or on your c-section scar even years after giving birth.

As per traditional Chinese medicine, this is due to the concept of qi, which plays a vital role in facilitating blood, lymph, and waste movement within the body.

However, when qi is insufficient, it can lead to stagnation, causing discomfort and pain.

After a c-section, your body goes through a lot, and the scar area experiences reduced circulation.

Furthermore, painkillers and sedatives can slow down qi movement, worsening the situation.

Additionally, organs responsible for producing qi, such as the kidneys and spleen, may be stressed during this time.

All of these factors contribute to stagnation, leading to pain.

To help your body heal and recover from this, it's crucial to prioritize movement as soon as possible after giving birth.

Scar massages can also be very helpful in promoting a smooth and flexible scar without pain.

Additionally, acupuncture can help restore the flow of qi, alleviate pain, and promote overall well-being.

… is one of my personal favorite homeopathic remedies for a variety of reasons.

Not only has it helped my daughter countless times, but the flower itself blooms so majestically right now.

I bought a Pulsatilla plant last year at a sale, and have been eagerly waiting almost 12 months to see it blossom.
