If you could choose any eye color you like, which one would it be? 👁️

When I was debating moving back to Passau - a notable smaller city and artscene compared to Berlin of course - I was worried that the limitations of a ‚small city‘ would equally show in my artworks and creative thinking. That I would simply stop to ‚think big‘ and surrender to what’s considered normal.

To an extent, living in Berlin and travelling the world had become „my identity“, a comfort zone that barred me from challenging myself mentally since I was already „doing enough“ by being there.

Over the last couple of months I already met so many interesting creatives that defy this stereotype. People that present an incredible level of craftsmanship, curiosity and critical thinking. And I strive to become one of them.

Great Exhibitions like „ZUGÄNGE“ by and Uli Schmid are an icing on the cake, and a perfect reminder for that.

When I made this piece in 2021, I called it „Call Of The Void“ - so I guess it fits the scene?

The series is inspired by design principles found in Japanese culture and Zen aesthetic.

At their core, ‘Fukinsei’ and ‘Kintsugi’ celebrate imperfection as part of our existence, and state that nature itself is full of beauty and harmonious relationships that are asymmetrical yet balanced.

In a world that that is full of concrete and becomes increasingly more grey, I strive to create works that show life in all its color and beauty. 🙌🏻

Although this piece of mine is 8 years old, I never came around to give it a proper name or title.

What would you suggest?

While i‘m still struggling to get back to my rhythm in the studio, I wanted to share this piece from a couple years ago.

I can‘t help but think of the „Rainbow Road“ track in Mario Kart whenever I see it, hence I hinted at that in the title of the piece. Do you see it? 😁
