✈️ Ten months of hard work, focus, and dedication — and today, it pays off. ✈️

Back in September, a group of aspiring air traffic controllers arrived in Prague with a shared goal. Since then, future ATCOs from Avinor have been immersed in ATC Initial Training at CANI, progressing through Basic Training and the ADC, ACS and APS rating courses.

Ten months of theory lessons, simulator sessions, assessments, setbacks, breakthroughs, and steady, continuous progress — and today, they leave CANI ready for the next stage of their journey.

They return home to Norway with new knowledge, lasting friendships, valuable memories, and the certificates that mark this milestone on their path towards becoming operational air traffic controllers.

Congratulations to everyone who reached this milestone after ten months of continuous effort. We are proud to have been part of your journey and wish you every success in the years ahead.

✈️ Another ATSEP milestone achieved at CANI ✈️

It has been a busy spring for ATSEP training at CANI, bringing together technical experts from across Europe to strengthen their competencies in key CNS domains.

Most recently, participants from Austro Control, Skyguide, PANSA (Polska Agencja Żeglugi Powietrznej) and ANS CR (Řízení letového provozu ČR, s.p.) successfully completed the ATSEP Data Processing (DPR) Qualification Training.

The training focused on ATM data processing systems and their role within modern air navigation services.

Participants explored topics including data processing systems, data management, functional safety, and interfaces with communication and surveillance systems, helping ATSEPs build the expertise needed to support safe and efficient operations.

✈️ Strong assessors help build stronger controllers ✈️

The quality of aviation training depends not only on those who learn, but also on those who can assess performance, provide constructive feedback and support continuous development.

A group of air traffic controllers from Kazaeronavigatsia_official has completed the Assessor Training Course at CANI, developing the competencies required to evaluate performance, conduct assessments and guide others through their professional journey.

Through classroom sessions, group work and practical simulations, participants strengthened their skills in competence assessment, debriefing techniques and performance evaluation.

✈️ APS Rating milestone reached by future ATCOs

A group of future air traffic controllers who began their training at CANI in January has cleared a major hurdle — successful completion of the APS Rating.

It did not come easily. Months of intensive study, simulator sessions and constant refinement go into this phase — a demanding part of the ATCO training pathway that pushes trainees to perform under real pressure.

As reflected at the closing ceremony, the road to becoming an air traffic controller is a long one — built on focus, resilience and the willingness to learn from every exercise, every debrief, every mistake.

The APS Rating is behind them. The next stage of their training continues at IATCC Jeneč - Řízení letového provozu ČR, s.p.

Congratulations to all three — we are proud of what you have achieved and excited for what lies ahead.

✈️ A new ATCO journey begins at CANI ✈️

This week, we officially welcomed a new group of Czech students — future air traffic controllers — to CANI.

Before entering the classroom, the students spent several days together during an adaptation course in Ledeč nad Sázavou, focusing on:
🤝 getting to know each other
🧭 understanding what lies ahead in the training
🧩 team building activities supporting cooperation and communication

Now, their journey truly begins. Their upcoming training will combine theoretical learning with practical exercises, gradually developing the skills required for one of aviation’s most responsible professions.

We wish them the very best — and we're proud to guide them from day one.

✈️ From Basic Training to APP Rating – a journey completed at CANI ✈️

Future air traffic controllers from Slovenia Control, who began their training at CANI in October 2025, have now progressed through all key stages of initial ATCO training — from ATC Basic Training, through the ADC Rating, to the final milestone of the APP Rating.

Reaching this stage requires dedication, persistence and continuous development through a demanding training pathway.

The final APP phase included intensive theoretical preparation and 30+ practical simulator exercises per trainee, focused on managing complex traffic in approach environments.

Congratulations to those who reached this milestone — and we wish them every success as they move forward in their operational careers.
