The architectural concept unifies railway and bus operations within a single, clearly legible building. A compact form with a generous concourse creates a distinct gateway to the city, seamlessly connecting with the public plaza in front of the terminal. A glazed façade and wooden acoustic interiors ensure a bright and welcoming atmosphere, while the concrete frame structure allows flexibility and future adaptability. The station is designed to be efficient, user-friendly, and sustainable – a transport hub for the 21st century.

Architektonický návrh terminálu spojuje železniční a autobusový provoz do jednoho jasně čitelného celku.Kompaktní objem s velkorysou odbavovací halou vytváří přehledný vstupní bod do města, který přirozeně navazuje na veřejný prostor před terminálem.Prosklený plášť a dřevěné akustické obklady interiéru zajišťují světlé a příjemné prostředí pro cestující, zatímco betonová skeletová konstrukce umožňuje variabilitu a budoucí rozvoj.Budova je navržena jako efektivní, přívětivá a udržitelná – terminál pro 21. století.

The concept of re-purposing and refurbishing historical structures is carried through further into the city, into Výtoň area.

Here, the main bridge seamlessly transitions into the cladding of smaller bridge structures, forming viaducts that traverse the city. We remain dedicated to preserving as much of the existing structures as possible, enhancing the area's distinctive character.

Výtoň Station serves as the focal point of this space. Nestled within the vaulted spaces with openings leading to the upper island platform, the station offers accessibility through staircases, elevators, and escalators.

In this way, the station becomes an integral part of the bridge, while the bridge becomes an essential element of the urban landscape.

The image in this post shows our proposal for the 2021 international competition to reconfigure the historical railway bridge beneath Prague's Vyšehrad.

Základní myšlenky renovace a znovu-využití maxima historických konstrukcí pokračuje i dále do města - na Výtoň. Zde linie mostu přechází v opláštění menších mostních konstrukcí estakády procházející městem. I zde důsledně zachováváme maximum stávajících konstrukcí tvořících genia loci.

Stanice Výtoň je centrem tohoto prostoru. Umístěná přímo do klenebních prostor s průrazy směrem do horního ostrovního nástupiště umožnuje stanice obsluhu pomocí schodiště, výtahů a eskalátorů.

Stanice je tak součástí mostu a most je součástí města.

In 2021, we proposed restoring and re-configuring the historical railway bridge beneath Prague's Vyšehrad.

The historic structures are renovated and reconfigured for pedestrian and cycling traffic, while railway transportation is via new bridges designed with contemporary rail needs and fully leveraging the latest innovations.

In their simplicity, the new bridges harmonize with the historic structures, enhancing rather than competing with the original bridge's historical and cultural value.

This swap of the users (see diagram on the second image) allows each user group to fully benefit from a structure suited to them. Pedestrians and cyclists will be closer to the beautiful refurbished historical structure.

Preserving and repurposing historic structures is necessary for our cultural heritage and sets an example of sustainability.

V roce 2021, pro mezinárodní architektonickou soutěž,

V roce 2021 jsme navrhli obnovu a nové uspořádání historického železničního mostu pod pražským Vyšehradem.

Historické konstrukce jsou opravené a překonfigurované pro pěší a cyklistickou dopravu, zatímco železniční doprava je převedena přes Vltavu novými mosty, navrženými na současnými potřeby a plně využívající nejmodernější inovace.

Ve své jednoduchosti ladí s historickou konstrukcí a spíše umocňují historickou a kulturní hodnotu původního mostu, než aby mu konkurovaly.

Tato výměna uživatelů (viz schéma na druhém obrázku) umožňuje každé skupině plně využívat konstrukci, která jim vyhovuje. Chodci a cyklisté budou mít blíže ke krásné zrekonstruované historické konstrukci.

Zachování a nové využití historických konstrukcí je nezbytné nejen z hlediska našeho kulturního dědictví, ale je také příkladem z hlediska udržitelnosti.

Today, another possible solution for the restoration of the historical railway bridge beneath Prague's Vyšehrad was announced.

We are very happy that there is still an ongoing effort to save this beautiful structure, which is so important for Prague's panorama. Many thanks to vysehradskymost.cz foundation for this effort.

In 2021 we also participated in an architectural competition for the re-design of a railway bridge beneath Prague's Vyšehrad - images in this post show our proposal.

After over 100 years of service, the bridge is in a deteriorating state and is unable to fulfil its function for railway transportation. Without question, the bridge is a significant cultural landmark and an integral part of Prague's skyline, the atmosphere of the riverside, and the hearts of its residents.

Preserving the historical bridge structures was the central focus of our proposal and we are very happy that this option is still on the table.

Dnes bylo prezentováno další možné řešení, jak vyřešit obnovu historického železničního mostu pod pražským Vyšehradem.

Jsme velmi rádi, že stále pokračuje snaha o záchranu této krásné stavby, která je tak důležitá pro panorama Prahy. Děkujeme za to Nadačnímu fondu pro záchranu Vyšehradského železničního mostu.

V roce 2021 jsme se také zúčastnili architektonické soutěže na řešení železničního mostu pod pražským Vyšehradem.

Po více než 100 letech provozu je most v nevyhovujícím stavu a nedokáže tak plnit svou funkci pro železniční dopravu. Bez diskuse je most významnou kulturní památkou a neoddělitelně patří k panoramatu Prahy, k atmosféře náplavky i do srdcí Pražanů.

Zachování historických mostních konstrukcí bylo ústředním bodem našeho návrhu a jsme velmi rádi, že tato možnost je stále na stole.

In addition to the building itself, the design competition for the new building of the Czech Industrial Health Insurance Company also included the solution for their courtyard.

The volume of the building is shaped to avoid limiting the existing neighboring structures while maximizing the usable space of the office floors. which slightly extend into the courtyard, opposite a newly designed garden for employees.

The walkable surfaces of the courtyard are unified and shared by both pedestrians and vehicles. We propose recycled brick pavers, which can be laid flexibly. Combined with gravel lawns, this can achieve the effect of grass paving or provide space for solitary trees.

Součástí soutěže nové budovy České průmyslové zdravotní pojišťovny bylo kromě samotné budovy i řešení vnitrobloku.

Směrem do vnitrobloku je objem budovy upravený půdorysně tak, aby neomezil stávající sousední stavby a zároveň maximalizoval užitný prostor kancelářských pater, která mírně vystupují do vnitrobloku naproti nově navržené zahradě pro zaměstnance.

Pochozí plochy vnitrobloku jsou sjednoceny a sdíleny pěšími i automobily. Navrhujeme zde recyklovanou cihelnou skládanou dlažbu, kterou lze uložit variabilně a v kombinaci se štěrkovými trávníky lze docílit efektu zatravňovacích dlažeb či umístění solitérních stromů.

The aim of our design for the new building of the Czech Industrial Health Insurance Company in Ostrava was primarily to create a rational and sustainable office building for the 21st century. The composition of the design fully respects the street profile. The building's northern façade reflects not only the materiality of the exposed brickwork that unifies the locality, but also the regular division of the façade into smaller scales of individual windows.

From a sustainability perspective, we propose a compact building with a CLT (cross-laminated timber) structural system and the maximum use of existing materials based on the principles of circular construction. The bricks used for the northern façade will be sourced from the current building being demolished. Similarly, the paving in the courtyard follows the same principles.

Cílem našeho návrhu nové budovy České průmyslové zdravotní pojišťovny v Ostravě bylo zejména vytvořit racionální a udržitelnou kancelářskou budovu 21. století. Kompozice návrhu zcela respektuje uliční profil. Severní fasáda budovy reflektuje nejen materialitu režného zdiva sjednocujícího lokalitu, ale také pravidelné členění fasády do menšího měřítka jednotlivých oken.

Z pohledu udržitelnosti navrhujeme kompaktní budovu s konstrukčním systémem z CLT a maximálním využítím stávajících hodnot/ materiálů na základě principu cirkulární stavby. Právě cihly použité na severní fasádě budou získávány ze současné demolované budovy. Také dlažba ve vnitrobloku sleduje podobné principy.

Our competition proposal for the new building of the Czech Industrial Health Insurance Company in Ostrava achieved 3rd place.

The Vítkovice area is a location with a rich history and is continuously undergoing progressive development – historical buildings from the 19th century are in close proximity to industrial heritage from the last century. The new building of the Czech Industrial Health Insurance Company has the chance to be incorporated into this mosaic as a representative of modern architecture of the 21st century. The aspiration of the proposal is thus the construction of a contemporary office building that reflects the values of today's architectural and geopolitical thinking, while responding to its surroundings and aiming to be a good 'neighbor' within this historical mosaic.

Náš soutěžní návrh na novou budovu České průmyslové zdravotní pojišťovny v Ostravě se umístil na 3. místě.

Oblast Vítkovic je lokalitou s bohatou historií a stále prochází progresivním vývojem – historické budovy 19. století jsou v těsné blízkosti průmyslového dědictví z minulého století. Nová budova České průmyslové zdravotní pojišťovny má šanci se do této mozaiky zapsat jako představitel novodobé architektury 21. století. Aspirací návrhu je tak stavba současné kancelářské budovy, která odráží hodnoty dnešního architektonického a geopolitického smýšlení, ale reaguje na své okolí a chce být dobrým ‚sousedem‘ v rámci této historické mozaiky.

The main areas of the kindergarten are situated at garden level. The corridor connecting the classrooms widens in places, providing spaces for play. At the center of the corridor, forming a natural circuit between the classrooms, is an outdoor atrium with controlled access to the rooftop garden.

The atrium can be connected to the interior, maximizing the shared play space for all kindergarten students. This way, children are part of the entire community, not just their own class.

The classrooms are always two stories tall. The social facilities, cloakroom, and food preparation area are located underneath an elevated floor, which houses sleeping quarters. The lower part of the classroom is designated for play and learning, with the option to extend it into the exterior front yards equipped with sandboxes, plant beds, and small play elements.

Hlavní prostory mateřské školky se nachází v úrovni zahrady. Chodba propojující třídy se místy rozšiřuje a poskytuje prostory pro hru. Středem chodby, která utváří přirozený okruh mezi třídami je venkovní atrium s kontrolovaným výstupem na střešní zahradu. Atrium je možné propojit s interiérem a maximalizovat tak prostor hry sdílený všemi žáky mateřské školky. Děti jsou tak součástí celé komunity nikoli jen své třídy.

Třídy jsou vždy dvoupatrové. Sociální zázemí, šatna a přípravna jídla jsou zastropeny vloženým patrem na kterém se nachází lůžková část. Spodní část třídy je určena pro hru a výuku s možností rozšířit třídy do venkovních předzahrádek vybavených pískovišti, záhony a drobnými herními prvky.

The specific environment around the dam is characterized by a tranquil neighborhood of multi-story standalone villas nestled amidst abundant greenery. The spacious building, divided into smaller-scale classroom volumes, harmoniously blends with the surrounding architecture.

The kindergarten is located in a garden surrounded by mature trees, creating a "forest-like" atmosphere around it. The woodland theme of the kindergarten is apparent from the moment you enter the building, especially because most of the existing trees have been preserved.

The classroom volumes, clad in wood, are nestled within the garden like individual houses. Connecting corridors feature glass walls around their perimeter and an overhead garden. As a result, visitors perceive the classrooms as separate entities within the forest.

Specifické prostředí kraje přehrady je lokalitou klidného sousedství vícepodlažních solitérních vil zasazených do všudypřítomné zeleně. Prostorná budova členěná na objemy jednotlivých tříd menšího měřítka se pohledově nevymyká okolní zástavbě.

Školka je zasazena do zahrady s výsadbou vzrostlých stromů a je téměř celá pohlcena „lesem“ stromů po svém obvodu. Téma lesní školky je znatelné již při vstupu do objektu zejména díky zachování většiny stávajících stromů.

Dřevem obalené objemy tříd jsou zasazeny do zahrady jako samostatné domy. Spojovací chodby jsou po obvodu řešeny prosklením/průhledy a shora umístěnou zahradou. Návštěvník tedy vnímá třídy jako oddělené hmoty v lese.

The awarded project in the architectural competition for a Kindergarten "U Přehrady" in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic.

The phenomenon of the city of Jablonec is the dam and the noticeable proximity to the extensive Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area, including the surrounding urban forest garden landscape. The site is directly influenced by these external factors, and the design of the kindergarten building with its garden respects and incorporates them seamlessly within the solution.

We propose an inspiring environment for play and learning integrated into a garden full of trees. Compact volumes of separate classrooms protrude into the garden in various directions, opening up views with large windows. These boxes are linked by spacious corridors which integrate gaming features, while extending the garden area onto their rooftop.

Oceněný projekt v architektonické soutěži na Mateřskou školu u Přehrady v Jablonci nad Nisou.

Fenoménem města Jablonce je přehrada a citelná blízkost rozsáhlé CHKO Jizerské hory včetně okolní městské sadolesové zahradní krajiny. Samotný pozemek je v přímém kontaktu s těmito vnějšími vlivy a návrh objektu mateřské školy se zahradou je respektuje a do řešení absorbuje.

Pro návrh proto navrhujeme inspirativní prostředí pro hru a výuku, které jsme vložili do zahrady plné stromů. Kompaktní objemy samostatných tříd vystupují do zahrady v různých směrech, do kterých otevírají výhledy rozměrnými okny. Tyto boxy jsou vzájemně propojeny prostornou chodbou, která do sebe integruje herní funkce a na jejíž střeše se rozšiřuje prostor zahrady o další rozměr.

The design of the terminal features a clear layout of the hall, with simple passenger orientation. The rectangular terminal is symmetrically arranged directly beneath the running body of the high-speed rail (HSR) track with platforms. Entrances to the long terminal hall come from all four sides, allowing smooth access for passengers arriving by buses, taxis, kiss-and-ride (K+R), and parking lots. The train stop, bike path, and trolleybus stop are accessible from vertical connections linked to the center of the terminal hall. Each of the two high-speed rail platforms is accessible through a symmetrically positioned pair of staircases, elevators, and escalators.

Návrh terminálu je navržen na přehledném půdorysu haly, s jednoduchou orientací cestujících. Obdélníkový terminál je symetricky rozvržen přímo pod probíhajícím tělesem VRT dráhy s nástupišti. Vstupy do dlouhé terminálové haly vedou ze všech 4 stran a umožňují plynulý přístup cestujících z autobusů, taxi, K+R a parkovišť. Vlaková zastávka, cyklostezka a trolejbusová zastávka jsou přístupné z vertikálních komunikací napojených na střed haly terminálu. Obě platformy vysokorychlostní železnice jsou každá přístupná symetricky umístěnou dvojicí schodišť, výtahů a eskalátorů.
