“I Miss the Way I Used to Think”
The painting captures two female figures in a forest setting with a dominant tree in the background. The seated woman with dark hair represents my present self — her gaze is directed downward toward the reclining figure, with an expression of sorrow and nostalgia. The reclining figure is intentionally semi-transparent, referencing my past self, which no longer exists and cannot be returned to.
The theme of the painting is the feeling of having lost one’s own intellectual and philosophical depth — the present self looks upon the younger self with wistfulness and nostalgia, with the sense of having become a less interesting version of oneself.
In the foreground of the painting are scattered my actual childhood drawings and a purple crown I received as a child for Christmas — objects that physically exist and serve as a direct bridge between the past and the present. In the lower right corner of the painting is depicted Betty the rabbit, who was present throughout my adolescence. The composition of the painting is based on the principle of the golden ratio — its focal point corresponds to the area of the faces of both figures, which thus form the natural compositional center of the entire painting. The tree in the background repeats the motif present across all three paintings in the series as a symbol of life and continuity. — from my bachelor’s thesis

“I Don’t Know How to Exist Without the Pressure” 100 x 100cm
“The painting depicts two female figures in a dark forest setting with a dominant, massive tree at the center of the composition. The tree, which recurs in various forms across three paintings in the series, again carries the symbolism of life and perseverance.
The front figure sits leaning against the trunk of the tree, her hair binding her — wrapped around her body, it acts as shackles. Hair here carries the symbolism of memory and the past; the figure bound by her own hair represents the inner pressure a person places upon themselves, particularly in the form of demands for performance and self-evaluation.
In the grass around the tree, a ring of mushrooms is visible — the so-called fairy ring, a folkloric motif associated with being compelled to dance and with a trap from which there is no escape. This motif connects the inner and outer dimensions of pressure. It is echoed by the second figure in the background, who dances with outstretched arms and her head tilted back — yet her movement is not an expression of freedom, but of involuntary submission to external expectations and social pressure.” — from my bachelor’s thesis
