NEW RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR STUDENTS 🧑‍🎓

Starting from October 20, 2025, the Deputy Ministry of Migration has begun accepting applications for a new type of residence permit under the Visitor — Course Enrolment program.

❓What is known about this program?
1️⃣ It is aimed at third-country nationals who wish to come to Cyprus to attend training courses in the fields of shipping or aviation offered by institutions outside the higher education system.
2️⃣ The residence permit is issued only if the duration of the program exceeds four months.
3️⃣ The permit is valid for one year. For shorter programs, it is issued for the duration of the course.
4️⃣ The sole purpose of stay in Cyprus must be education under the approved program. The residence permit does not grant the right to work or access to the GeSY healthcare system.
5️⃣ After completing their studies, foreign nationals must leave Cyprus.

If the pilot phase proves successful, the Ministry of Migration may expand the program to include other fields.
