One of the biggest takeaways from 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 this year for us by 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄 - that no one in the is alone.
For decades now, almost every studio, whether or had faced their own hardships. But it’s the love for the job that keeps us going.
But how do you “excel in rough seas”?

❥ Treat every new job, project, and even hardship as a learning opportunity
❥ Normalize making mistakes (but learning from them!)
❥ Even if you’re not sure of yourself - do the thing anyway. Try. You’ll thank yourself later.
❥ No growth happens in the comfort zone - you need to be at least a little bit uncomfortable. It means your skills are being challenged, which makes or breaks great game devs.
❥ It’s okay to doubt yourself. Just don’t let it affect your decisions.
❥ If you can, find people you will have fun working with. The gaming industry is so interesting and filled to the brim with some of the best people you’ll meet. They alone can help you overcome some of the most stressful periods.
❥ Please, for the love of God, - **REST. Burnout is real, and dangerous.

You know you are a game developer because you’re “in the trenches” every day, swamped with work, deadlines, feedback and expectations.

But you FEEL like one when you meet people in the industry, listen to their experiences, share the highs and lows, and just stand back to appreciate that, despite everything - you absolutely f**** LOVE your job.
