In the spirit of the holidays, we have focused on one of our first clients ✨

The beautiful combination of script and sans-serif brings memories of reading this quote for the first time:

“Type is saying things to us all the time. Typefaces express a mood, an
atmosphere. They give words certain coloring.”

This is precisely what we’ve done. The script typeface used evokes the feeling of warmth and handwritten/handmade gifts whilst the sans serif provides stability and modernization that it needed.

Another very important point when working with a brand that designers often leave out is the variation of a logo. Why do these matter you may wonder?
Well very often your logo will be applied in print, animation, and any other digital format and you may be facing more work afterwards.. Thinking ahead about the purpose for each logo variation saves you the trouble of client complaints and bad referrals. Whilst designing a logo thinking about where it will be applied, generate mockups and test what works the best! After all, practice makes perfect 👩🏻‍💻

We‘ve had an enormous pleasure working with on their brand identity while back and it is timeless, it is bold and both its variations will not go out of style.

Website design and development for Shishmish Film. We progressed from the logotype onto the bold typography and dark mode - so stereotypical - which ushers this brand into edginess and creativity, filled with visual display of their work.

The entire website is ever-changing and in motion, thanks to the GIFs which swarm the home page, and hand-drawn elements add creative flair and is entertwined through the entire site.

Shishmish (Šišmiš) means ‘Bat’ in Serbian, and the word itself seems playful with loads of Shh sounds in such a small word. This dark playfulness of the word Shishmish and the bat itself inspired us to creatE this hand-drawn bat paired with bold and heavy typography.

Walter Landor is the epitome of an entrepreneur: working away from his living room, his drive of passion and vision has led him to Levi’s, Marlboro and Coca Cola.

Does he know something we don’t? Some nuances do change with the passing of time, but the core principle remains; people have, and always will, create an image of brands in their minds, an image they want to identify with and celebrate themselves through it.

The sooner we learn this the easier branding becomes.

Visual identity for .

So here’s the story:
Our client reached out with a wish to create an organic blueberry brand that would stand out from the rest on the market. His wish was to start selling his organic berries, grown peacefully under the Rudnik mountain, directly to the customer, avoiding the price markup imposed by the large commercial chains and resellers, also wanting to venture into selling directly to consumer which would mean more sustainable packaging and a lesser carbon footprint to our mother Earth.

And we loved it.

Our first brainstorming took us straight to discussing values: what does it add to the world, and which unique feature was the one distinguishing them from others. What the main emotion it carries. What good it brings.

The answer was purity.

There is something innocently good about blueberries themselves; they are so beneficial, and have several incredible (and study-backed) health effects, yet carry very little sugar and allergens in them, and they even taste good! Add that goodness to the fact that these blueberries are grown in the untouched nature of central Serbia, and you have a pure, gentle superfood.

Bobica was born.

The main pattern we see in clients is that they come requesting a ‘logo’. We ask ‘What is a logo?’. Silence. No response. It is difficult to design such an abstract thing.

In our world, your ethos comes before logo design. The motive is what we look for. We ask the whats and whys of your work. We ought to know what made you move out into that business, and what’s the worst thing that could happen to your brand. We aren’t looking for phrases such as ‘lower profit margin’, ‘decreased capacity’ or even the dreaded word, ‘engagement’. Our focus is elsewhere; we want real, genuine human connection.
