Modern and free to try typefaces and fonts from independent type designers

About a month ago we released one of the funkiest projects in our collection, Bardamu. It's a slab serif family with reverse contrast, inverted + classic italics and a ton of characters.

At GYS we try to be as customer-centric as possible and make sure our typefaces are always easy to use. So, here are a few posters showcasing Bardamu's best features.

If you would like to test this typeface free of charge, feel free to download trial versions on our website: groteskly.xyz

I'm excited to share some big news! The official Groteskly Yours, Studio website (groteskly.xyz) was finally launched last week. While it's still a work in progress, it's already coming together nicely. Currently, you can visit the website to download free trial versions of our fonts, explore our font library, and learn more about the studio and ourselves.

In the near future, we'll be adding dynamic specimens for each type family, blog posts, type design resources, a font shop, and other exciting features.

Let us know what you think!

We're slowly working towards releasing our latest work, Bardamu. While we generally are more interested in more neutral typefaces, it's very refreshing to showcase something different and perhaps more daring! What do you think?

Resistance Sans is coming along — and in two different versions too. The Display will feature more contrast and cheek, while the Text version is more uniform and decked with inktraps as well as optical compensators to make up for some blurriness at smaller weights. Also, some glyphs are different: the Display will feature wider 't', 'f' and 'l', which look dashing and quirky at the same time. Of course, matching italics to boot, as always. . . . . . — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2uL3EHE

These days I spend the better part of my working hours tweaking and retweaking Resistance Sans, which is, by the way, almost out (welp, at least I hope it is!). This little and nonetheless aggressive experiment dates back to last November when I had a thing for serifs. Maybe I should pick it up where I left off, it can turn out to be quite a challenge! . . . . — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2Hr8ts4

I've been rather inactive lately, but that's only because I spend way too much time on Resistance Sans, which now is comprised of two styles (Display and Text) and 5 weights each. Plus matching Italics. It's a sweet deal that's made even sweeter as I added Cyrillic alphabet and a bunch of cool stuff to it a couple of days ago. Stay tuned for more updates! . . . . . . . — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2UyMvLI

Little Processing shenanigans from a couple of months back! I'm hoping to spend more time with Processing this year as it seems as though it's one of the best tools to create engaging kinetic typography. I've just downloaded a couple of good books (thank god for Library Genesis!) so I'm off to a good start. . . . . . . . — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/38KYZnn

I spent the better part of January working on a project that wound up being rather lousy! What a strange feeling it is to have worked on something for a long time only to realize that it doesn't make the cut. . . . . . . . — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3anGhDT
