Hello everyone, welcome to visualization of my personal experience of the world on two wheels.

Now that I have learned some basic skills how to ride a motorcycle it is time to find a perfect type of bike for me. Everyone loves them, but are sport bikes my thing?

What was my approach as total beginner to the motorcycles when I decided to enter the world of adventure?

Triumph is one well known brand. Not fully my cup of tea, perhaps because of design but there is no doubt it is a good bike. People who drove Explorer and Tiger said the are extremely satisfied. And I believe they were. Lots of power, nice torque, and they stick to the tarmac nicely. Not just those two models but the rest of them too. Model Triple have 3 cylinder engine and that is pretty uncommon for motorcycles. But the headlights... Well, let's just say they are unique on that one. Like a mosquito. One of those designers solutions (or rather artistic expressions) - either you hate them, or you love them. There is no middle ground here.

One custom made boxer powered Bavarian road grabber. Subtile pearl color gives it a bit of a character, but what really catches my eye are front forks. By the texture I would guess they are made of carbon fiber. If not then it is extremely good water-print. In either case this bike looks unique.

Brand "Voge" had it's debut on this fair. For now, they manufacture motorcycles up to 650ccm engines. 650 DS model is powered by BMW rotax with approx 50bhp. Overall it is a good bike, seems well build, but I wouldn't recommend it for riders taller then 180cm (5.9ft). Maybe if you change the seat to be more flattened. Factory seat locks you into one position and it can feel really uncomfortable after a while. They make 500ccm which might be compared to Honda 500X for example. Even the design and color is very similar. And a premiere is 300 Rally. For me it is way too small which is too bad because I'd love to try it. Needless to say that adventure bikes are my favorite. All in all, I was very surprised by quality of there bikes. That was the case with rest of the Chinese brands too.

Besides Desert X, which was my favorite at the fair, Nordern is kinda second fav. Looks good, just like Ducati have a bit of a retro style design. What I don't like is a skid plate below the engine. It sure does look like a box. But, then again, engine guards purpose is not to look nice but to do intended job. My friend bought one, the regular 901 and he is really satisfied with it. In his words this is the best bike he drove to this date. Next year he plans to change it for upgraded one.

Another Italian brand bought by Chinese company - Benelli. Here you can see TRK 502 X model. It looks like it have bigger engine since it is pretty robust. I have driven Kawasaki KLE 500 but TRK looks and feels bigger. Certainly Benelli is much wider in tank area which gives nice wind cover for knees and legs. And with crash bars a good overall protection. We all agree that is mandatory while ridding.

And now my favorite from this moto fair: Looks great, feels great, and if I have to choose Italian bike it certainly would be Ducati. And design reminds me of my ex Africa Twin RD04. But with 300ccm bigger engine and around 50 bhp stronger. Oh, and 18' rear rim. But it puzzles me why it have 15 teeth sprocket in front. Why not 16 like standard XRV750? It would give more speed, but it might kill the engine power. But I guess top speed of 220kmh+ is more then enough for adventure bike. Ducati offers lots of practical add-ons which which is a plus. If you ask me this is how new Africa Twin should look like, and feel like.

Of course, no bike is fully complete without proper equipment and some accessories. Cases, protectors, bags, windshields, adequate clothing, helmet, communication, navigation, tires, heaters, you name it. We all choose by our own needs. And, of course, if we travel alone or with our better half. In that case sometimes I have a feeling that three biggest cases or bags will never be enough. And to pack for a vacation can be a little adventure of its own.

This one was a proper surprise, in a very positive way. Brand sounds Italian and it is by his origin, but Moto Morini was bought by Chinese company. But that does not automatically mean bike build is low quality, on the contrary. It seems like a firm build, tail rack is made of aluminium (Suzuki V-Strom1050 is made of plastic, for example), it is tall, good clearance, and it is suitable for tall riders. Seat allows rider to adjust sitting position at any moment, legs and knees fit nicely on the side of reservoir, big LCD... All in all, a very nice surprise. I will have to test this one for sure.
