Dear Cameroonian women,
Dear Cameroonian men,
Dear young compatriots,
As the Orange Wave sweeps from North to South; from East to West, I hear the distant, buzzing murmur of an old political class that refuses to accept fossilization as its only fate. Yet, its revolting actions over more than four decades at the highest levels of the state have only led it among the saddest and most detestable ruins of our shared history.
They boldly declare—disregarding the brilliance of our vision—that: *The Orange Wave has nothing but youth as its politica
l program.*
What megalomania!
It is with such phrasings that they believe they can repress the passion of the Orange Wave in order to secure yet another seven years in power for lawless, faithless elites — idle and wealthy — whose only mission has been to oppress, even to the very last sigh, the vast young masses who make up the majority of our country.
They proudly dig up this "trick" because, for 43 years, they have never included the youth. The very same youth who have continually died in the destructive fires lit by their love of nepotism, corruption, mediocrity, and cronyism.
With the Orange Wave, we of course work with adults—but above all, we work with the youth, because we hold the unshakable conviction that when it comes to Cameroon, it would be wrong to say we must “also” address youth issues. In truth, it's not about “also,” it's about “especially” and “starting” there.
In the Orange Wave, you are the youth outraged by the dull and tasteless offering of aging rulers whose only inspiration foreshadows harm.
You are the youth already torn apart by all the hardships that these 43 years of misery have forced upon us.
You are those young minds whose diplomas fade away while waiting in vain to be of use—because Biya and his cronies long ago erased the word “merit” from their daily vocabulary.
You’ve watched the best among you leave, swept away by selective immigration, tired of running into the walls of mediocrity and favoritism, while the regime’s mediocre friends sit on the thrones of merit and mock us.
You’ve seen your dreams shatter at the doors of rigged entrance exams, while the “sons” of the regime land spots through favoritism without even understanding the how or why.
In the Orange Wave, you are those young people who have long knocked on the doors of employment, only to be asked, “Who is your godfather? No one enters here without being endorsed!”
Sadly, this is the harsh reality of an inhumane regime where submission is valued more than hard work.
You are those young people who have heard your sisters groan in offices because promotion doors only open at the cost of their dignity.
You are those young people who have heard promises blossom on television but wither away in the drawers of ministries.
You have launched projects, but invisible hands have stolen them and renamed them after some Minister or some “Son of...”.
You were preselected for funding, but this corrupt regime swallowed it all before you even knew when the opportunity slipped away.
You wanted to start businesses, but they strangled you with excessive taxation.
You saw funds meant forg you diverted to Swiss bank accounts; turned into flashy displays of luxury, harsh and traumatic against your hardships.
You are these young people left behind, disconnected, without water, without schools, without even the slightest thing.

Dear young people,
By choosing the Orange ballot, you will deliver the strongest rebuke to this outdated regime that has worked to defend and safeguard its selfish interests at the expense of the well-being of the nation’s vital forces—that is, you.
The Orange Wave, as it rises, reflects rupture and progress. It is the image of Cameroon we all long for. Today, youth, may you think of this Cameroon as if reaching out your hands to all your reclaimed treasures; on October 12th, if you choose the Orange ballot, they will be our greatest victory.
