The Masakhane African Languages Hub, in partnership with Microsoft AI For Good Lab, Gates Foundation, and Google.org, is joining forces to launch LINGUA Africa, a new open call designed to strengthen the language foundations needed for inclusive AI in Africa.

Proposals are welcome from three categories:
• Data Creation
• Model or tool development
• Sectoral application

Applications from non-profits, social enterprises, research institutions, or a team of such organisations working with African languages based in and/or having a presence in Africa, and legally registered

Selected projects will receive funding, compute resources, technical support, and opportunities to collaborate within a growing ecosystem.
