We are proud to present “Missing People – Inventio fortunate” – an evocative art piece by Stéphanie Roland, currently exhibited at in Ghent, Belgium.
Using Rayform’s caustics technology and AI, Roland combines optical lenses with profound storytelling. Outraged by the habit of military dictatorship to make opponents “disappear”, the artist explores the themes of memory, absence, and mourning. The seemingly empty lenses project eerie AI-generated portraits of disappeared individuals–a haunting metaphor for the fragile trace of those no longer here.
