The Congolese people need health care, food security, innovative development solutions, and infrastructures. 5 million died from the direct and indirect consequences of war: mass murder, displacement, disease and famine. Today, many rapes and human rights violations still occur, the country's abundant resources are being plundered by the remaining militias, and the government is not able to guaran
tee the safety of the Congolese people in the Eastern provinces. During the long years of the war in Congo, all warring factions have committed gross violations of human rights, including:
· Torture
· Murders
· Mass rapes
CCD was founded by young Congolese eager to make a change and alleviate the suffering and poverty of thousands of poor and vulnerable men, women and children. CCD’s ultimate goal is to contribute to the establishment of a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Congo, one development project at a time, one advocacy campaign at a time, one school at time, etc. CCD is working in numerous sectors:
