Tabitha Center

In January, three members of our team went to a city in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo to install five new Tabitha Centers! We spent three days in going over the sewing curriculum and one of the Bible studies we use with the teachers from each of the Centers. We were so encouraged by the enthusiasm these teachers had for everything they learned.
These five Centers are in different nearby regions where the Evangelical Free Church of Congo (CECU) has churches!

In January we installed 5 new Tabitha Centers in Kinshasa! Three of the new Centers will be led by Tabitha Center graduates. One of our graduates from just last year came to the installation with her sewing student whom she has been teaching with the sewing machine she received at graduation!
Please pray that these materials would be used to bring the hope of Christ to those who have never experienced it before!

In December, some of our cosmetology teachers gathered for several days of practice and learning from one another! Please pray that these teachers would continue to be passionate about teaching others and improving their own skills!

In November, we installed a new Tabitha Center! Even with over 300 Tabitha Centers around Kinshasa, many more churches and groups are waiting to launch this ministry as well. Please pray for this new Center and the ones we will be installing in the next few weeks to catch the vision of the ministry and use these supplies to shine the light of Christ's love to their communities.

After our graduation last July, students who didn't score high enough to receive a sewing machine were invited to continue to improve their skills in an internship. Those who completed this internship received sewing machines in November, and showed off some of their improved sewing skills!
Please continue to pray for our graduates to put into practice all that they have learned, both in their vocational skills and their spiritual walks.

It's so exciting to see our Tabitha Centers around the DRC bringing hope and transformation to the lives of women in their communities. Our Tabitha Centers in Gemena (in the northwest of the country) celebrated the graduation of 29 women last month! Our director had the honor of celebrating this milestone with them!
