When in Salem 👻

Today I’m dealing with ADHD paralysis.
What’s that? It’s when us ADHD’ers get overwhelmed with where we are/what needs to get done. We freeze and avoid…and then feel guilty for freezing and avoiding when the list gets longer or the weight of things gets heavier.
Today I’m stuck, I feel like I’m failing…and though I have tools and strategies to deal with this…here I am on instagram🤷‍♀️


If you see a friend, or a coworker, a partner or a child stuck or paralyzed by their world…please extend a kindness and support. Help them find a little dopamine and start them on their journey to accomplishment. How? Validation, laughter and help break down or identify the first steps.
It’s genuinely a tough spot to be.

It’s been years of watching these kiddos grow. Grow independently, grow personally, grow academically, grow socially and most importantly grow together.
As a teacher, a coach, a tutor and therapist I’ve had so many kids come and go in the 17 years I’ve been doing this; these two are the hardest to say goodbye to.
I am grateful for the lessons they have taught me. I’m grateful for all the incredible experiences we’ve shared. The ways we’ve laughed, the ways we’ve apologized and the ways we’ve supported each other are immeasurable.
Never forget children watch us and read us. Never forget that children are learning from everything they do. Never forget the light they bring to our lives if we give them our time and attention.
Thanks boys for letting me be part of your journey; and being an integral part of mine!

My tutoring client is crushing grade 10 math this year!!!! I’m proud not only of how hard he’s worked to build these skills (he gives 110% in our sessions)-but more so, I’m incredibly happy to see his math confidence so strong!

This might not look like much…but to two young thespians, it was everything.

Another Thursday, another adventure! Today we learned about environmental science…methods used by the Schneider family and methods we use today.
We made tea using dried plants, tended garden, helped make compost and checked out soils!

Buddy climb today was EVERYTHING!
We spent a whole hour and a half mastering our technique and partnership skills.
As partners we tried (and mostly succeeded) things we normally wouldn’t. We had to problem solve in a new and outside the box way! We thrived! We kept getting back on the be smoother, better, stronger.

It was great for communication, trust building and problem solving and physical exercise.

So. Much. Fun.
