Summer is just around the corner and we are getting everything ready for our upcoming camps. Whether your child is into outdoor adventures, science experiments, playing sports like soccer, road hockey, and baseball, or classic camp games, we have an activity for every kid.

Build your kayaking skills on the water this summer! These sessions for ages 8–12 are perfect for beginners or anyone looking to build confidence in a kayak. Campers will explore local waters while learning safety and paddling techniques. All kayaks and gear are included.

📍 Location: Off-site at Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club (VCKC) / Oak Bay Marina.
🛶 Note: Before and After Camp Care is not available for these sessions.
🥜 Reminder: Braefoot is a NUT FREE zone. Please pack two nut-free snacks, a nut-free lunch, a hat, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.

We’ve got a full day planned with bouncy castles, face painting, local vendors, and plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Best of all, it’s a free event for the community!

1️⃣ Intro to Kayaking: Perfect for beginners! Learn safety, paddling, and gear basics.
2️⃣ Kayaking Essentials: For the graduates! Advanced skills, rescue techniques, and daily water challenges.

Today on International Women’s Day, we want to recognize the incredible women who make the Braefoot Community Association such a special place.

From our early childhood educators and out-of-school care leaders to our program coordinators, administrators, and volunteers — the dedication, compassion, and leadership of the women in our organization shape the experiences of hundreds of children and families in our community every day.

They are mentors, role models, problem solvers, and advocates who create safe, supportive spaces where young people can learn, grow, and belong.

Braefoot Out of School Care leader Marisha Thompson has been named Canada West Women’s Athlete of the Year — an incredible achievement recognizing her outstanding performance, dedication, and impact in university athletics.

Marisha’s commitment, leadership, and work ethic are inspiring both on and off the field. We’re proud to have such an accomplished athlete helping support and mentor children in our programs.
