Meet Zach Hetherington, Development Director with 4 years at Kabam
may be done, but the journey continues.
This year, we saw gaming, XR, animation, and VFX represented further and wider than ever before, with voices in rooms that matter – forging connections and telling local stories that deserve to be heard on a global stage.
A few highlights we'll be thinking about for a while:
⭐Our first and flagship panel on Centre Stage: “How to Build a Creative Tech Hub” featuring Michelle Grady, President of Sony Imageworks; Nick Cannon, SVP Production at Walt Disney Animation Studios; and Jennifer McCarron, President, Blue Ant Studios.
⭐The unveiling of the new CanAsia Game Summit for next year’s Web Summit, bringing together industry leaders, studios, investors, and partners from across North America and Asia.
⭐The “Game Over Continue?” panel with Ray Muzyka, co-founder of Bioware (EA) and Jesse Houston and Jeanne-Marie Owens, co-founders of Phoenix Labs and Critical Path Games; moderated by Victor Lucas – so insightful and engaging! 🙌
To every studio, founder, speaker and partner who was part of this: thank you.
To the Province of British Columbia, whose support makes this possible: thank you. 🙏
We're well into our three-year journey with Web Summit, and the momentum is real. Year three, we're coming for you!

It was a powerful introduction to what makes Vancouver's creative tech ecosystem tick – and the perfect way to start the week! 💫
