Hi! 👋 I host a travel series on OUTtv and Pluto TV Canada. I also write about travel for a couple online magazines. I'm also a Content Creator (often called an Influencer) posting on my social media accounts with YouTube being my biggest platform, followed by Instagram. I cover LGBTQ travel, food & events.
15 minutes from Helsinki, 200 years back in time 🇫🇮⛴️
A whole 18th-century sea fortress – museums, a WWII submarine, tunnels carved into the rock, and centuries-old fortifications on the Baltic. One transit ticket gets you here from Finland’s capital city! 🎟️
Hot sauna. Cold Baltic. Repeat. 🔥❄️
Finland has more saunas than some countries have people - over 3 million for just over 5 million Finns. Maybe that’s part of why they’ve been named the happiest country in the world for 9 years in a row! 😃
This one is Löyly, one of Helsinki’s best-known sauna spots right on the Baltic waterfront. The ritual is heat up in the traditional smoke or wood-burning sauna, then cool down with a plunge straight into the sea. Finns take this seriously - they do it year-round, even cutting a hole in the ice during the winter for the cold plunge. 🥶

The capital of Finland is a coastal city built across a cluster of islands and known for its clean design, laid-back pace, and deep connection to the sea. 🌊
You can soak up that mix by wandering around an 18th-century sea fortress with stone tunnels, checking out so many incredible buildings and fountains around the city, and experiencing the sauna-then-Baltic-plunging culture... which had me feeling both refreshed and shell-shocked. 🥵🥶
Can’t wait to show you some reels over the next few days of highlights that’ll make you want to add this place to your travel bucketlist, if it’s not on there already! 🙌

The Camposanto Monumentale is an ancient sacred burial site and the last monument on Piazza del Duomo in Pisa. Bring your bestie to make sure you get good video and photos of yourself inside it! 😜

20 photos, 4 cities, 1 leaning tower 🇮🇹
Check out these shots from my journey around Italy:
🌋 1-5: Catania, where having a cannoli is basically a requirement and an active volcano just casually looms in the background.
🏛️ 6: Just one photo from Naples because it was overwhelmingly hot and just a stop on our way to a 2000 year old city...
🗿 7-12: Pompeii, where I spent an afternoon walking through that 2000 year old city and learning more about the eruption that buried it all for so many years.
🗼 13-20: Pisa, aka the city that exists so tourists can take the exact same forced-perspective photo - myself included.
From the Sicilian sights to the public square to the ruins to the tower (and buildings surrounding it), Italy really let me run the full emotional range in one trip! 🫶
Handheld fans are cute until you need a third hand 🤳
Trying to hold your phone, a brochure/drink/gelato, and a fan up to your face at the same time is not it. This one just hangs around your neck and does the work while your hands stay free for literally everything else. It’s quieter than her handheld one, it has multiple speeds, it doesn’t catch your hair (like hers did), it doesn’t get dropped (like hers did) and it doesn’t require you to keep holding your arm up like you’re giving it a workout (like hers did)! 💪

The Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica... it all made for an unforgettable 24 hours of walking around 2000+ years of history ⌛
Bring a fan, you’ll be fine 🪭🥵
How bad can 40°C/104°F be when you’re surrounded by stone? I’m sure it’ll absorb the heat for us. 🪨☀️
