The truth is, we don’t talk enough about how much courage it takes to admit when something isn’t good for your heart. How hard it is to walk away from a connection that held memories, or comfort, or a version of you that no longer fits. Ending a relationship, or accepting the natural end of one, is its own kind of healing. It asks you to trust that the lesson was enough, even if the future you imagined was not.
You learn, over time, that not everyone you love will be able to meet you at the depth you’re ready for. Some people love you with what little they have, and that’s still not the kind of love that can carry you into who you’re becoming. And that’s okay. You’re allowed to want a connection that grows with you instead of one that keeps you circling back to the same pain. You’re allowed to outgrow dynamics that once felt like home simply because you’ve outgrown the version of yourself that settled for them.
There’s a quiet kind of power in choosing yourself — in realizing that walking away isn’t always about loss; sometimes it’s about preservation. Sometimes it’s about honoring the parts of you that finally understand what peace feels like. Sometimes it’s the moment you stop chasing potential and start choosing reciprocity.
So let this be your reminder: you are not hard to love, and you are not impossible to stay with. You are simply someone who values connection that feels honest, steady, and emotionally safe. And the right relationship won’t require you to abandon that truth — it will meet you there. 🖤

Good advice…be choosy, and have fun!

This post made me laugh out loud…I once had a guy tell me he wouldn’t swipe right on a photo of a woman with her dog. 🤣 I thought, that’s great because I’m not interested in non-dog-people. BTW, I don’t dislike profile pics with fish. Are there profile pics that are a total turn-off or turn-on for you?
