Every Guide in New Brunswick needs to read this book ! 📕

The troubles we face today are a walk in the park compared to what the first guides of New Brunswick went through. As young as 15 some left home and hiked across the province through remote wilderness, sun, snow and rain, worked as cooks, trappers and lumbermen. Developing skills not just working as guides but as bushmen…..not business men.

Guides of New Brunswick in 2024 can clearly see the big picture. Guiding sports on hunting and fishing trips every single day would be awesome but will not be the case for most guides. So how does a guide make a living , what can we do to avoid a valley of disappointment between work? how do we ensure successful growth as a guide in today’s world?

As did our ancestors we take on new challenges, learn to understand the little details that seemingly get overlooked and forgotten. Develop habits and skills that progressively build your understanding one step at a time.

In the short term the little differences don’t seem to show up right away but with time and dedication the big picture begins to pull itself together.
