Drywall is on and now this place is really starting to look and feel like a house.

The messy stage is almost behind us and the fun part is about to begin — trim, millwork, cabinets, tile, and all the finishing details.

We’re installing resilient channel on the basement ceiling of this build for two reasons:

1. It helps flatten the ceiling by giving drywall a straight surface to attach to, instead of following uneven joists. No waviness and a super clean finish.

2. It also helps reduce noise by separating the drywall from the framing, which limits how sound and vibration travel through the house.

If you’re building a home this year, ask your builder about adding resilient channel.
