Meeting Billy Ocean was one thing… but hugging him, singing with him, laughing with him? That’s a memory I will carry forever.

This is an artist whose music lived in my home. Whose voice was part of the soundtrack of my Late Mommy Agatha and Late Sister Sharon’s lives. And somehow, life brought us into the same space not just as artist and admirer, but sharing a real human moment together.

Fifty years in the industry and still carrying himself with such grace, warmth, humility, and gratitude. THAT is legacy.

Sometimes your gift really does make room for you in ways you could never imagine.

Introducing the legendary Billy Ocean at the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival on Mother’s Day felt bigger than a moment.

He is One of my Late Mommy Agatha’s and Late Sister Sharon’s favourite artists… and somehow I was the one chosen to welcome him to the stage.

“They say your gift will make room for you.” This moment felt like proof.

50 years in the industry. Timeless hits. A real living legend. If I could model my career and attitude of gratitude after somebody, it would be his.

Thank you to the Saint Lucia tourism team for trusting me to do what I do best… be truly Jully. Honoured beyond words.

Mommy Agatha and Sharon… I know you were smiling.

The jokes were flying, the laughter was loud, and somehow chocolate got made in the middle of all that carrying on.
Had the best time at learning the process, getting our hands dirty, and walking away with chocolate bars we actually made from scratch.
New friends, sweet moments, and honestly just a really good day.
Joy looks good on us.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you needed something until you arrive.

Day one in Saint Lucia and I am already exhaling things I didn’t even know I was holding. Our villa at Windjammer Landing is beyond anything I could have imagined ,private pool, stunning views, pure peace.

But honestly? What got me most were the goodie bags. Custom, thoughtful, and waiting for us on arrival. It’s the small things that make you feel truly seen as a guest.

Saint Lucia, you are something special. And I have a feeling this week is going to remind me of a few things. 🌺🇱🇨

600 kids. One ukulele each. Pure magic.

Thinking about how amazing it was to be in their presence that day. Being in that school took me right back to Jane & Finch… music class, real joy, real connection.

Watching them hold instruments, play, focus, feel… that’s the power right there. Real music in real hands.

If we can, let’s keep putting instruments in kids’ hands. Let them experience this.

I came in thinking I was the special guest. Truth is, I was the one blessed to witness greatness.

Love is in action. Love is showing up. I’m doing my best to walk my talk and continue to be a bridge big enough for everyone to cross, especially the kids.
