Celebrating the 20th birthday of this underpowered, heavy and bulky, but long lasting laptop!

I'll always remember when it was running Windows, a long long time ago, and I got that infamous blue screen of death. And I followed the procedures to the letter of trying to reset and reinstall the Windows operating system of the day. I don't know how I managed to be so patient, but I let it run through its paces for probably 36 hours. And suddenly, it was back.

Over the years, while it could still run Windows, it got significantly slower. This, despite a couple of key hardware upgrades this old beast would tolerate. So with its ancient processor and puny amount of RAM, I made the decision to have Linux installed. All things considered, it runs quite well under Linux, and I'm a happy camper to have kept it.

Yes, has (and has the companion app to that), but in my experience - this is what my screen capture shows - if you have a device, is the better way to go. You can expand its window to full-screen, and in doing that, work with any Android app in a much bigger space, doing things you normally can do with multiple windows.

A bit 'hidden', but definitely a treasure. Are you in the area? This cafe is no more than 5 minutes along the Donway West from Don Mills. The proprietor is a wonderful man, service plus. Food and ambience is always great. Stop by... Experience it for yourself, or take it away with you.

Though Microsoft had at one point said there would be no further versions--i.e., no further 'numbers'--in terms of Windows, well, that has happened. Okay by me, as what I've seen seems like fun.
