A slightly less busy time for the magazine publishing industry? Is there such a thing?? Maybe—and maybe it's now! Nobody wants to jinx it, but did you maybe catch a glimpse of the surface of your desk (or computer desktop) recently? Were you able to take a break between meetings to listen to some birdsong and ice-cream truck melodies floating through your window? Did you come into the office one morning and find only a handful of emails waiting for you, and none of them were even marked urgent???
I mean...we still work in magazines. We still have loads of summer grant deadlines, issue launches both to publish and read, important surveys to answer and professional development to catch up on—you can read about all these things on the newsletter below!—but perhaps a vacation in there somewhere? At least a few days? A glass of lemonade??
