Five days at an artists’ camp reminded me why stepping outside your comfort zone can be so rewarding.

As an introvert, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but being surrounded by other artists, creating without pressure, and experimenting with a style that’s completely different from my own helped me break through a creative block I didn’t even realize I was carrying.

Sometimes, all it takes is a change of scenery, new conversations, and the courage to make something unfamiliar. I came home feeling inspired, creatively recharged, and excited to see where this new direction takes me.

Does your art style change depending on the medium you use?

I’ve noticed that mine does — and honestly, it happens completely unintentionally. My watercolors, traditional gouache, and Acryla gouache pieces often feel like they come from three slightly different artistic personalities.

It’s fascinating how much the medium influences the way we create. Maybe our style isn’t just one fixed thing — maybe it’s a conversation between our artistic voice and the tools we choose.
