The hardest part of writing a book is choosing what to leave in.

For years, I watched brilliant women shrink themselves in rooms they earned the right to lead.

Not because they weren’t capable. Because somewhere along the way they learned that taking up space was too risky.

I used to do it too.

The version of me in this photo doesn’t do that anymore.

She knows what she thinks. She says it out loud. She had Greg stopped performing the leader she thought others needed and started being the one she actually is.

That shift doesn’t happen in a workshop.

It happened “in the work”, the real uncomfortable worth every second work.

That’s what I’m talking about.

DM me the word “book” if you want to be on the waitlist for Little Kid In A Power Suit - coming February 2027.

My mother got married at 17.

She didn’t graduate high school. She didn’t have choices.
She didn’t have a voice.

Today, she’s the caregiver to my father, who has dementia.
The self-sacrifice didn’t stop when we grew up — it just took a new form.

This Mother’s Day, I’m honouring her.

And I’m thinking hard about what it means to have inherited a life full of choices she never had.

So I wrote something.

- About why I don’t talk about retirement.
- About refusing to spend my working years counting down to “freedom” when the work itself is the life I want to be inside of.
- About the mothers who adore their careers and have spent years quietly apologizing for it.
- About the women who chose differently.
- About every life that doesn’t fit neatly on a greeting card.

For my mother — who didn’t get to choose.
For my kids — who are watching what I do with the choosing.
For every woman who’s still figuring out the shape of her own life.

Happy Mother’s Day. To all of you.

Five years ago, I had a deal with myself:

if I couldn’t make my business work in a year I’d go back to the c-suite.

Well… That plan didn’t age well 😂

Today, Crucible Inc. not just a business. It’s my purpose.

It started from my own transformation. Back in 2020 and now it’s about helping others create theirs.

Being nominated for the RBC Canadian woman entrepreneur awards is cool, but honestly, the best part has always been the before and afters, watching people and teams take their change and turn it into something great.

Transformation is never easy, but it’s where the gold is.

it’s wild how sometimes the thing you build to help other others ends up transforming you too.

You're the one they call when things are on fire. The Fixer.
It feels like a compliment, but it's also a curse.

The standard advice to "delegate more" is lazy and ignores a critical truth: the right leadership style depends entirely on the company you're in.

Before you try to change your stripes, know your environment.

What do you do with the "problem employee" on your team?
The one who is disengaged, missing deadlines, or just not hitting the mark.

Your first instinct might be to performance manage them.
Or worse, let them go.
But what if the problem isn't the person, but the role they're in?

Great leadership isn't about forcing people into a “fire” or “not fire” box.
It's about understanding their unique design and putting them in a position where they can truly be good at something.

Here's a different way to think about it.

What's one step you can take this week to better understand your team's unique design? Let me know in the comments.

You want a killer team?

Stop looking for more rockstars.

Ask yourself this instead:

How safe is it to fail around here?

Google studied their best teams for two years.

Their #1 finding wasn't talent.

It was psychological safety.

Here's why it's the secret ingredient to building an elite team.

"I have no authority over them."

If you've ever said this, you're not alone.

The rules of leadership have changed.
Your title means less than your ability to influence.

Here's how to lead when no one reports to you. 👇
