Believe it or not this Stanley Cup design was the bride's idea! Each layer of French Vanilla cake is filled with yummy custard and a pound of fresh strawberries. Top it off with some sugar and piped flowers and the newlyweds were pleased as punch! Such a fun order to put together :)

After what turned out to be a very interesting tasting last night, I've decided to make a pretty solid change with the menu. The groom was adiment that he did not want chocolate or vanilla cupcakes at his wedding. Not because they didn't taste good, but because he wanted to have something unique. We decided on Lemon Pie, Coconut Cream Pie and Banana Butterscotch for cupcake flavours. While it changes the procedure from the original plan, I'm so very excited that I have a couple who wants to step outside of the box. Today added to this decision as well. Making some birthday cupcakes I decided to switch up my technique and create both flavours with filled centres. Chocolate Peanut Butter and Vanilla Bean. If you've read this far, thanks, here's the change... Ray's Cakes will now be making ALL cupcakes with centre fillings in a complimentary flavour. Themed cakes will remain the same, cake and frosting, but cupcakes will be slightly different and even more amazing. A list will be posted this weekend but I had to share the news as I'm quite excited to put a stamp on this. Hopefully you're excited to try one! Ok... Back to work!
