Agents of Change. Voices of Power.
Hundreds of UFCW activists gathered in Montreal for the 16th Biennial Women’s Network Convention to build leadership skills, share experiences, and strengthen solidarity through workshops, panels, and powerful conversations on equity, safety, organizing, and women’s leadership.
From mentorship and public speaking to pay equity and ending gender-based violence, this convention highlighted the power of women leading change in our union and our communities.

Congratulations to our friends at The Moccasin Identifier Initiative on the unveiling of the Nahneebahquay installation.
This powerful and meaningful tribute honours Nahneebahquay’s enduring legacy while reminding us of the importance of recognizing Indigenous history, truth, and whose land we are on. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this installation to life and to all who gathered to celebrate this special moment.
We are filled with gratitude after the unveiling of the Nahneebahquay installation. Thank you to everyone who came out to witness and celebrate this special moment with us.
This installation has been a long time in the works, and it meant so much to have Elders, dignitaries, MI partners, community members, and descendants of Nahnee gathered together in honour of her legacy. We are especially grateful to Carolyn King, founder of Moccasin Identifier, whose vision for MI was inspired by Nahnee, her strength, and her enduring reminder of the importance of knowing whose land we are on.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring this installation to life and to all who joined us for such a meaningful day. More photos and videos from the unveiling will be shared in the coming weeks.

UFCW Canada is joining trade unionists around the world in welcoming a landmark ruling from the International Court of Justice affirming that the right to strike is protected under international law.
The Court’s opinion confirms that workers’ rights to organize, take collective action, and withdraw their labour are fundamental freedoms protected under ILO Convention No. 87 on Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize.
This historic decision represents a major victory for workers and unions globally, especially at a time when collective bargaining rights and trade union freedoms continue to face challenges in many countries.
