Supporting women and newcomers in construction and trades through training, job placement & entrepreneurship 🛠️
AWW’s programs will focus on training for the construction trades, and will teach women how to use tools, preform installations, and get them ready for apprenticeship, freelance and job positions with notable industry players. We'll provide mentorship programs, working with professionals in the trades, creating more opportunities for jobs for women who are new to the country, looking to start a second career, or recent graduates of high school and college. We hope to help women rise above these gender bias narratives and foster opportunities for growth through AWW.
Some people hold a position. Others use that position to OPEN HUGE DOORS!
As Minister David Piccini begins his new chapter as Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure, I want to simply say - THANK YOU!🙏🏽
During his time as Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, he believed in the work we were building at A Women’s Work Support Centre and, most importantly, in the women we serve.
Today, more than 300 women have been trained and 140+ have entered employment - women building careers, supporting their families and finding their place in industries where they have historically been underrepresented.
Minister Piccini showed up. He listened. He encouraged our women. He celebrated their successes. And his Ministry invested in making these opportunities possible.

Minister, thank you for believing in our work and for helping us prove what is possible when women are given access, opportunity and a real pathway to employment.
And as you move to Infrastructure, somehow it feels fitting.
Because you’re not finished building yet. ❤️

Our Tools & Equipment Series collaboration with brought together students from grades 9–11 for a hands on experience at our AWW Finch Campus!
Together students built two benches that they’ll now use back in their classroom! ⚙️
WillowWood supports students with diverse learning needs and helps them build skills to navigate different challenges both in and out of the classroom. This program was all about building confidence and learning trades skills, AWWORG is very happy that we got to be part of their journey and create a space where they could learn, build, and succeed.
