In less that 2 days I get to see my mama. This is the longest time that I have not seen her (almost 2 years)! Excitement is in the air!!!

Warm summer fuzzies from capturing families reuniting with each other. Two more weeks until I get to see my family after almost 2 years. I am so freaking excited!! When last did you see your fam???

‘I’ve got your back and you’ve got mine.’ I will protect you, I will defend you, I will love you until the end of time. Being a parent is so freaking hard! I was listening to a podcast this week about ‘Who is the Boss?’ The distinction that we need to teach children of who is running the show. They shared a great analogy which stuck with me. It compared the family unit to a team and the team has captains that lead, guide and inspire. I love this approach. Be the leader your child needs, inspire them, guide them while also respecting them. Acknowledge their feelings but do not succumb to their demands.

Mamas and their babes♥️ I may sound like a stick record but quite often moms are missing from so many memories. I know this fact first hand. Reward yourself, value yourself - Jump in that photo, be a part of that memory. Drop a ♥️ in my comments if you are a mom and feel like you are never in any photos.

As mentioned in my previous post. Incorporating food into your family portraits are always a winner! And can we talk about the refreshing, juicy watermelons we have been getting - yummmmy!!!

Cheers to squishy hugs and spitty kisses! It was Luca’s first birthday and what better way to celebrate than with a fun family session. We ended the session with some sweet, juicy watermelon. Incorporating food into a session with kids is always a winner!

I am so grateful for technology these days, especially during covid. Even though I am unable to be with my friends and family back home it keeps me so well connected. Last week, I was able to capture some photos of this beauty - Emily (my best friend’s daughter) who is about to graduate from high school. Through this virtual session I was able to be present and involved in creating some memories for this beautiful soul. Thank you .app for allowing me to reconnect with my people. I am so proud of you Em! I know you will continue to grow and inspire all those around you❤️❤️

I just can’t get enough of all the baby posts on Instagram. No matter how bad of a day I am having once I see these tiny humans it fills my soul with so much joy and hope and love!!!! My kids are now 11 and 8, they really do grow up in the blink of an eye. Oh how I miss that baby stage, how about you parents out there??

Feeding time during a newborn session is pretty normal, so why not document it! To include these moments just adds to the authenticity of the moment and the experience. I believe that it also puts the mom at ease, and of course makes for a very happy baby. This was a virtual session done in Trinidad with the most chill and relaxed souls.
