It is in Canada’s best interests for IRCC to tackle the backlog and achieve greater transparency and functioning to reunite families, bring skilled immigrants and workers to fill labour shortages, promote economic recovery, and revive Canada’s immigration system and reputation.
No more excuses for our immigration backlog The government needs to commit to tackling unacceptable delays.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently used a mandate letter to instruct his new Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, to “explore ways of regularizing status for undocumented workers who are contributing to Canadian communities.”

Soon-to-be Canadians waiting in vain to hear about their citizenship applications A large number of immigrants say they've been waiting months to hear back from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) about whether or not they will soon become Canadian citizens.
The Canadian government must develop some sort of reduction plan to reduce the current backlog.
