Shifting Artsward
Art is an life force, an awareness stoker, a spirit-expander and just plain fun most of the time. Often taking a back seat to so many other big priorities in a busy life, this space is part of a commitment to honour the practice of it with a more central place in my life.
After studies in graphic design and fine art, glass stoked my creative fire and became my primary creative outlet. A glass artisan for 28 years, with a leaning towards contemporary and mission-style work, in this past decade I discovered a passion for painting, abstract watercolour and multi-media in particular.
Why we make art is unique to every artist. For me, it is exploration, meditation, learning, growing, it elevates my joy, it is quite regularly a healthy challenge and often is my most personal therapy. On the best days it elevates us all, in the making and the viewing.
