FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Ruby & Teddy

Meet Ruby and Teddy, a sweet pair of one-year-old siblings who are looking for a patient foster home where they can finally feel safe. These two are shy at first and may spend some time hiding but once they start to trust you, they love pets and cheek scratches. Teddy especially enjoys a good brushing.

They may hiss or give a gentle claw-free swat when they’re scared but they are not aggressive. They’re just two nervous cats who need time, patience and a quiet environment to learn that people can be trusted.

Teddy may meow at night while he settles in. He gets confused and frightened when things change so having someone who can give him the reassurance and time he needs will make all the difference. Ruby and Teddy are the sweetest duo with so much potential. They just need someone willing to give them the time and patience to come out of their shells.

Today is National Cat & Dog Gut Health Awareness Day. A healthy gut supports digestion, nutrient absorption, immunity and overall wellbeing.

Here are some simple ways to help:

🧡 Feed a balanced, consistent diet - sudden food changes can upset sensitive stomachs
🧡 Keep fresh water available - hydration is important for healthy digestion
🧡 Choose appropriate nutritious food - your cat’s nutritional needs matter at every stage of life
🧡 Keep them active and enriched - play and movement are good for more than just burning off the zoomies
🧡 Keep litter boxes clean - and pay attention to changes in p**p, frequency or bathroom habits
🧡 Watch for changes - ongoing vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, appetite changes or other digestive issues are worth discussing with your vet

A happy tummy = a happier kitty

Meet Lyra, a sweet girl with just the right amount of sass. She’s looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed.

Lyra was adopted as a young cat, but after escaping, she spent two years surviving on the streets before finding her way back to the Annex Cat Rescue family. Life has taught her to be cautious and she’s now looking for a patient person who will let her set the pace.

Lyra could potentially live with a calm cat who is happy to simply coexist but being the only cat would be her preference. Her dream home is a quiet one with a patient adopter who will win her over with treats, kindness and gentle love. Check the link in our bio for more info.

Meet Bagheera, a sweet boy with a playful side! 🖤

This 1-year-old former street cat may take a little time to trust, but once he does, he's a joyful companion who loves wand toys, tunnels, cardboard boxes, treats, and wet food. His favourite way to show trust? A slow blink and choosing to curl up beside you on his own terms.

Bagheera would thrive in a quiet home with a patient adopter who will give him time and space to blossom. No young children, please!

It’s a chance to meet some of the wonderful people and enjoy a little time together with fellow ACR volunteers. We’ll have some light snacks and beverages.

Meet Barney & Fred! These bonded brothers do everything side-by-side, from napping in their cat tower to grooming each other and play-fighting before curling up for a cozy snooze.

Barney is the outgoing explorer. Curious and playful, he’ll be the first to investigate new spaces. He loves chasing toys, laser lights and especially watching “cat TV” with Fred. He’s also a funny little character who likes to paw at the TV, pounce on toes under blankets and “help” at dinnertime by meowing and standing on his hind legs while food is being served.

Fred is the gentler, more reserved one. You’ll recognize him by the little white patch on his chest, his higher-pitched meow and his slightly chunky build. He may take a bit longer to settle in but once he feels safe, he’s all love. Fred adores belly rubs, follows his humans around and has a soft spot for laser pointer games. He’s also grown into a bedtime buddy, often sleeping at the foot of the bed or loafing on his favourite chair.

Fred and Barney share an incredible bond and need to be adopted together. They’ll do best as the only cats in the household where they can soak up all the love, attention and laser-pointer time their hearts desire. For more info, check the link in our bio.

Anastasia believes the best friendships don’t need cuddles 🐱💛

This beautiful, independent girl prefers to show affection in her own way. Anastasia loves relaxing near her people, watching Bird TV from the couch, climbing her cat tower, and enjoying a late-night play session when the mood strikes.

She may prefer her personal space, but earning Anastasia’s trust makes sharing those quiet moments with her all the more special. She’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her settle in at her own pace and appreciate her exactly as she is.

She can live with a friendly resident cat and especially enjoys the energy of younger cats, but she would also be happy as the only cat in her home. 🐾

Mist and Sterling are a bonded pair looking for their furever home together. These two sisters are the perfect little duo ... one curious and outgoing, the other sweet and shy ... but they’re happiest when they’re together.

Mist is a social butterfly and adventurer. Open a cupboard? She’s in it. Bring home a grocery bag? She’s investigating. She’s curious, adventurous, a little adorably clumsy, and absolutely melts for pets and chin scratches. Once she flops over, the purrs begin.

Sterling takes a little more time to warm up but give her patience and space and you’ll discover a gentle, affectionate sweetheart. She loves wand toys, crinkle balls, soft pets and cozy corners, especially when Mist is curled up beside her.

One month since I adopted this very charming gentleman from Annex Cat Rescue .

Momo likes snuggles, headbutts, being brushed, and any toy he can manage to bat under the stove.

Dislikes: waiting for dinner, scary noises, and the fact that he can’t fit his whole head in the catnip bag.

It’s his apartment now. I just live here.
