A gripping frontline dive into the lives of activists urgently blocking logging roads on Vancouver Island, Canada, in a last-ditch attempt to stop old-growth logging in the pristine Fairy Creek valley.

When police begin arresting people for standing in the way of forestry workers, thousands more protestors flock to the woods to participate in a dramatic and historic stand-off now recognized as Canada’s largest act of civil disobedience. Following a cast of blockaders, Indigenous land defenders and loggers, the film takes an insider look at the rise and fall of the contentious Fairy Creek blockade, creating a searing portrait of contemporary environmental activism.

A group of teenage misfits, inspired by a renegade English teacher, embark on a student film project and uncover a vast conspiracy that is poisoning the ground beneath their feet. Banding together to confront the indifferent adults, corrupt politicians and a violent criminal organization threatening their small town, they produce an investigative documentary that causes shockwaves in their community. Teenage Wasteland is a coming-of-age story based on exclusive access to hundreds of hours of candid, humorous and nostalgic video outtakes, and the cooperation of Fred Isseks and his intrepid students as they reckon, thirty years later, with a defining event in their lives and a remarkable story of civic courage.

EVEREST DARK tells the story of Mingma Tsiri Sherpa, revered as a national hero in Nepal for leading numerous rescue missions. After nearly retiring from climbing, Mingma undertakes a mission to recover a body from Everest’s slopes, so it can be returned home and restore balance to the mountain gods.
