Day four and the cobwebs are starting to fall off, and my hands are starting to cramp and I’ve met so many cool bassists.
If you’re new here - hi I’m Katey and I’m relearning the upright bass after a 10 year break. I want to bring more music into the world in spaces like public parks and subway stations (I’m from Vegas - let me romanticize it while I’m living in Toronto).
If you’re a bassist or you know one, send them my way, I’m trying to stay inspired and test if this is something the people want to see.
What would you do if you saw someone playing the bass on a street corner or in your local park with nowhere to tip? Would you sit and enjoy the music?
I better start calling this an experiment - or create a real plan 🤣

Today I collected my thoughts like seashells on the beach instead of frantically like I just dropped an entire bag of groceries.
I wasn’t alone on this mental beach, there were footsteps next to me of a man I couldn’t see.
He’s always been there, and once upon a time someone told me a story of how He gave his life for ours.
His steps were there with me when I did drop the groceries and lose me cool. They were with me when I swore I knew better than Him. And I thought I saw Him the night I cried in my car and begged Him to save me from the mess I made.
I wanna hear an amen, I want to see my friends learn about the Bible. The coolest thing I ever heard was the Good News.
