Welcoming The Johnnys to Indigenous Grooves 2025!

The Johnnys are a high-energy rock’n’roll band, founded by life partners Veronica Johnny (2Spirit, Athabasca Chipewyan First Nations vocalist) and Dave Johnny (drums), delivering rowdy and humour-filled performances.

The Johnnys are passionate about Cree language revitalization, the environment, and empowering music projects for youth. Veronica’s Nehiyaw (Cree-Métis) heritage is reflected in some of the band’s lyrical content, with Indigenous influences on topics such as the environment, social justice, and political change.
