OGS devices are dependable and easy to maintain because they use gravity separation for pollutant removal. When a filter element is added to an OGS, the lab testing will not indicate “real world” removal performance due to organics and oils that will clog filters. Filter elements also introduce a more complex inspection and maintenance procedure beyond just a simple vac truck.
