It's coming up on just about a year since I started this *waves dramatically at Instagram feed*, so I guess it's time to take a hot minute away from e-mails and reflect on some sh*t.

This image is an outtake from the April issue of for an article on how the pandemic disproportionately impacted women's financial security.  Not only did the message hit home, but it was also my first big solo project and shot in my living room during the lockdown.

Money is weird and hard.  I love to make money, but I hate invoicing.  I love to say that I'm going to expense something (after all, that's 80% of a freelancer's cool factor), but I hate to upload receipts into my accounting software and tag them by category.

I don't know if I'll ever figure it out, but in the meantime, I'll keep on vac packing gold bars and submitting the images to open-minded Art Directors in hopes that one day they will print my money.

Pickles n’ Chips 🥒🍟🧂

Because sometimes throwing salt in the wound is just what the doctor ordered.

Inspiration: If quarantine has you craving sustainable habits then this cocktail is for you! Now there is no excuse to let the crumbs at the bottoms of your Ruffles bag go to waste. Time to get that chip off your shoulder and into your cocktail. The addition of pickle brine instead of traditional olive juice is not only a great way to improvise based on what you have in your fridge, it also makes this salty AF, which is coincidentally the mood I find myself in most frequently.

Ingredients:

✣ 2 1/2oz Vodka
The good stuff if you’ve got it.
✣ 1/2oz Pickle Juice
✣ 1/4oz Dry Vermouth
✣ Salted Potato Chips
All dressed if you’re fancy.
✣ 1 or 2 Cornichon

Preparation:

Crush 2-3 chips on a plate (or use the crumbs at the bottom of the bag if you’ve started snacking).

Roll your novelty martini glass in lemon juice and dip in the crushed potato chips.

In a shaker add vodka, vermouth, pickle juice and ice.

Give it a good shake and strain into your prepared martini glass.

Garnish with a cornichon/pickle/gherkin (you can google the difference) and then you’ll have something even Sean Connery would drink at a party. If both parties and Sean Connery were still happening.
