As an NES kid in NA, I'd never played the Sega SG-1000 before... in fact, I barely even knew it existed!

What do you think is the best Atari 5200 game?

I thought the Atari 2600 was all about simple arcade games... then I discovered it had Superman, Spider-Man, Gremlins, Frankenstein's Monster, and even more bizarre titles. 🤯

The deeper I dive into the Atari library, the weirder it gets. And no... these aren't the infamous adult games. 😂

I went into Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap expecting another simple platformer... but I ended up finding one of the most impressive 8-bit games I've ever played.

The exploration, transformations, and interconnected world felt way ahead of their time. As someone who grew up with the NES, this was one Master System game I definitely wasn't expecting.

Did you play this back in the day, or are you discovering it now?

Some of these games have galaxy maps, resource management, first-person gameplay, and mechanics that honestly feel way ahead of what I expected from the console. A few even had me completely stumped!

As someone discovering the Atari 2600 for the first time, these are the games that made me ask, "How is this even running on this hardware?"
