Lightbringer Photo
One man, One Camera, Multiple Lights... He currently works with the Canon system, but in the past has relied on Polaroid (Spectra) and Minolta (x-700/). i.e. Why?
Jos Lightbringer, an individual who has engaged in photography for his whole life, but has only as of 2007 taken it seriously. Jos endeavors to capture those moments in time and slices of life when his camera is handy to show off his ever-growing set of skills in the world of photography. Since childhood, he has had numerous cameras pass through his hands, of which quite a few were point and shoot
False advertising can be found in a lot of places, but one of the worst offenders are camera manufacturers.
Whenever a new model is released, advertising teams put out campaigns with impressive photos, that show off how awesome the latest camera is. While most of it is true, the part that most don’t realize or understand is that, those amazing pictures that make you want the camera are carefully crafted by professionals using full (and I mean FULL) lighting systems.
The average photographer uses maybe one - the sun or a flash - and will never achieve the range and depth that their camera is capable of.
Seeing is believing, too much.

It's been sometime since I last went to a Photo Show. I think I might attend this one.

Unfortuntately, my timeliness left much to be desired. I arrived somewhere after 1pm, having missed a couple demos.
Opting to begin my adventure at Ashbridges, I arrived at Coronation park as the F-22 was tearing the sky apart with the sound of its 70,000 pounds per foot of thrust. To give you an idea of how powerful that is... the Snowbird team would have to be doubled in size to equal it. (One CT-114 has 2650lbf in thrust)
Despite missing the louder features, I was at Ontario Place to witness the tail end of the show. What a spectacular end!
The Snowbirds never fail to impress.
Happy Canada 150!

Happy Eclipse!
I shot this, right from my driveway, a scant few minutes ago. I am fortunate to have an extremely old piece of Tiffen Photar filter glass, which let me fire off this shot.
Unfortunately, I chipped this filter shortly after I made the shot. The chip is on the edge and shouldn't affect any future eclipse shots. I'll put it away now for safe keeping. ;)
Note: It's incredibly difficult focusing on the sun without blinding yourself. Even with special glass, it's a major feat for a novice/hobbyist.

Partnering up with MEC, Chasing Sunrise has introduced their mantra of "You were born to do more than pay bills and die" to Toronto.
Despite the foggy and cloudy conditions, the initial/inaugural session was filled with good spirits and rare opportunities.

BoK, Suma, 40hz and friends presents Dirty Decibels
A great party with a decidedly old-school location feeling to it. A former underground government office!

Sunsets are overrated. Sunrises is where it's really at.
The dawn of a new day; the air is fresh; the world is coming alive.
Once again, I find myself trudging along and alone, to snap pics of The Sentinel. This massive dead tree sits alone in a Farmer's field about 2km east of me. Housing subdivisions frame the plot of land it sits in. It sits there, begging to be immortalized.

We forget too easily how much natural beauty there is, right here in our city.

Snapped this past weekend, when I had about a 2hour window of opportunity, before the clouds and rain rolled in.

Killing time, while waiting for my ride out of the CNE area, I pulled out the camera and started snapping a few pics.
