A mother cheetah gently grooms her cub — a vital ritual that goes beyond affection. Her rough tongue not only strengthens their bond but also removes parasites and scents that could attract predators. In the wild, these tender moments are as important as the chase, shaping the cub’s survival instincts from the very beginning.

The feet of lions are called paws and they are really big. Everytime I see their paws up close or even their tracks I am surprised about their size. A big male lion has a paw that is bigger than my hand.
The cubs (babies) are extremely cute, because their feet seem to big slightly out of proportion
Lions have retractable claws, just like domestic cats. This means that their sharp claws can be stretched out and then drawn back inside again under the fur where they are hidden.
Lions have 5 toes on the front paws and 4 in the back. The 5th toe on the front paw is on the side, like our thumb. They use it like a thumb as well. This claw is called the dewclaw
Their claws are really really long and can grow as long as 38mm! They are extremely strong and sharp, like you wouldn't believe. They keep them sharp by scratching trees. Again similar to domestic cats on a scarthing pole
Their claws are made keratin, which is the same as our nails.
Like most other cats lions also have padding underneath their feet. The padded paws make them walk quietly through the bush and it protects their feet.
Even though lions have padded paws, they still prefer to walk on the road made by men. It's just so much easier to walk on a clean/clear road than through the thick bush with sticks, thorns and other things that can hurt your feet
Here are some paw and random lion photos
