While most of us had a great time celebrating the holidays, let’s not forget that there are children across the world suffering because of wars and that consequences of those for them are dire and long lasting.

This one resonates today even though it was written years ago. 🇵🇸
Direct Contradiction
crouched in the corner of my personal space, no solace found
in the grip of primal emotions, I’m tightly bound
fearful for innocent lives lost in the name of holy war
dreading echoes of past experiences, the next roar
some declare love conquers hate’s cruel gaze
ends violent phase this contradiction lays
a grand and noble notion, but, alas, trapped in the haze of tales
evidently peaceful actionable change is what prevails
if only the powers that be would choose the right course of action
to mend this world’s heart
instead of perpetuating this painful contradiction

About when you’re afraid of your most precious memories slowly fading, in my case of my late dad who’s been gone since I was 9. Didn’t make an image for it because nothing can really depict the depth of that feeling. 💔 I’m sure many who’ve lost a loved one can relate, unless you have perfect memory, in which case I envy you. Dm me or tag me in your ai generated image you would use for this poem.

I crafted this poem (image 7) years ago when I felt trapped in a never-ending loop, unable to break free from the shadows of my childhood traumas.

Some of the first images I did with . 👽 Was going for subtle velvety textures with these specific colours.
