This is why I am big on taking care of yourself before you attempt to take care of anyone.

When that depressive state hits it is no joke!

It is easy to just want to lay in bed and go to sleep because let's face it when you're sleeping you don't feel anything right?

You don't want to talk to anyone. You think you can handle it on your own, you think that if you don't think about it too much eventually it will disappear!

Sis stop it! Never suffer alone, you don't have to. Help is always available you just have to ask.

Sis! How many of us are guilty of this?

I know I am. One thing about me no matter what is happening I'm gonna take me a nap. My problems will still be there once I wake.

But is this healthy?

Our first instinct is to take a nap because once you're asleep you cant feel any emotion or sadness.

So one tip. If you find yourself sleeping throughout most of your days try to go for a walk to give yourself some fresh air and a change of scenery.

Depression is a term thrown around a lot.

Before you self diagnose go to your doctor and have blood work done.

This way you can determine what is really going on with your body.

When you say the words Therapy or Mental Health the black community acts like you said a bad word.

Let’s change that narrative.

Therapy is not the enemy.

Mental Health is not a taboo topic. Let’s normalize making it a priority.

✨Every rough season comes to an end. Every storm will pass. Keep pushing. Sometimes we are at the edge of the storm and we give up just when better things are coming to us.
