I have just completed two months of residency at the Art Galley of Georgina. It was a wonderful experience and I am very happy to have had the opportunity. It was a privilege to be able to create work in such a lovely space and to meet with so many visitors to the gallery.
This is the last piece I made before my time was up. It will still be on the wall at the gallery in the gift shop should you like to see it. It is the largest piece I have ever created and a bit of a departure from my enhanced photo encaustic pieces. This painting is straight encaustic (painting with pigmented hot beeswax). I call it Swans in the Snow on the Black River.

Had a good day at the gallery. Finished a piece that I have been working for a while and a little extra piece that I had set aside and picked up again.

I have the pleasure of being the Artist in Residence at the Art Gallery of Georgina for the month of April! I will be painting today at the gallery until about 3. Come on down this gloomy Saturday and say hi! You can also take in the gallery’s current exhibition of art from the Ontario Society of Artists. It’s worth the drive to Sutton.

A bit sad today as the show that I was a part of at the gallery closed. I have brought my lovely poppies home. They will be up somewhere else someday.
The good news is that not only is a new show starting next week at the Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture but I still have work available for purchase at the gift shop. So, this is not an ending but a continuation.
