In March 1950, it was decided by the Commissioners of the School Municipality of Potton to obtain a site for a new school building.

In June of 1951, it was decided to build a new school at Mansonville to replace the existing intermediate school: a two-storey building of brick, containing 6 classrooms, principals' and teachers' rooms, assembly hall with stage and dressign room, kitchen and boiler room. In September 1953, the new school in Mansonville was officially opened. The old intermediate school was sold at public auction.

🎉 Congratulations to Kendra Fortin on earning 1st Prize in the Grade 6 category of the 2026 Brome Bright Lights Short Story Contest!

Kendra’s story, The Divorce, was selected as the top Grade 6 entry from nearly 200 submissions received from schools across the region. We are very proud of her accomplishment and the creativity, effort, and talent she demonstrated through her writing.

We would also like to recognize and congratulate all of our Mansonville Elementary students who participated in this year’s contest. It takes courage to share your ideas and stories with others, and we are proud of every student who took on the challenge. Seeing our students use their imagination, creativity, and writing skills is something worth celebrating.

Best of luck to Kendra at the awards ceremony on June 14, where the Grand Prize winner will be announced!

Congratulations to all of our young writers! 📚✍️🎉

🚨 Grade 6 Ottawa Trip Update 🚨

We have been tracking the Grade 6 trip to Ottawa today, and we’re happy to report that everyone is having fun…

Although we’re not entirely sure which way is up anymore. 🤔

The students are having a great time exploring, learning, and apparently defying gravity. We’ll keep you posted if they decide to come back down! 😄🚌✨

Our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students had the opportunity to meet with Sergeant Jesse Alix from the Sûreté du Québec to discuss important topics including consent, personal safety, social media responsibility, and cyberbullying.

Thank you to Sergeant Alix and the Sûreté du Québec for helping support safe, respectful, and informed choices for our students — both online and in everyday life!

Science class in full swing! 🔬🌿

From outside collecting samples to inside the lab learning how to use microscopes, today was filled with curiosity, discovery, laughter, and learning. There’s something pretty special about watching students explore the world around them with such wonder and excitement.
